Job Summary
The Ammunition Foreman oversees a workforce of ammunition personnel supporting a military Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) operation. Ensures the overall safe handling of a variety of ammunition, explosives and rockets.

Principal Accountabilities
Responsible for the receipt, storage and issue of basic load ammunition items with assigned customer units.
Provide a safe working environment for all personnel.
Ensure employees are trained and proficient in their assigned duties.
Coordinate activities of workers engaged in receipt, inspection, storage, and issue of ammunition and ammunition components.
Oversee inventories of ammunition stored in the ASP. Ensures that ammunition items are stored in magazines or on ammunition pads in accordance with security requirements.
Interpret and enforce safety regulations.
Forecast workload and manpower to ensure quality service is provided to the customer.
Provide proper ammunition and explosives storage and safety IAW applicable military and/or government regulations, field manuals or pamphlets.
Enforce priorities and daily assignments for the Ammunition Specialists.
Train workers in operation of support equipment.
Provide coaching, training and supervision of ASP ammunition specialists.
Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Possess the background necessary to be granted access to government computers.
Able to operate vehicles including, but not limited to pick-up trucks, heavy trucks and forklifts.
Able to segregate ammunition by restriction and other guidelines.
Able to maintain hardware and software systems and manual information recording.
Working knowledge of military ASP operations.
Knowledge of ammunition and hazardous material handling to ensure the safe receipt, storage, issue and movement of ammunition, explosives, chemicals, or radioactive materials in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of pallet building including 463L for shipment of ammunition preferred.
Working knowledge of the Standard Ammunition and Accounting System-Modernized (SAAS-MOD) computer system desired.

Experience & Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Six (6) or more years of directly related experience.
Three (3) or more years’ experience in supervising ammunition supply point operations and customer service at the team or section level.
Strong understanding of Military and Government ammunition regulations.
Experience in military ammunition supply and/or other military installation or equivalent level ASP support service operations.
Prior Military and/or Contingency Operations experience preferred.
Prior service as an MOS 89B (Ammunition Specialist NCO) or similar military specialty code preferred.
AMMO 62 course completion and certification for HAZDEC shipping a plus.
Forklift license up to 10K preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.
Working environment will be both office and outdoor settings which individual can be exposed to extreme weather conditions for extended period of time.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Ability to work 12 hour shifts; 7 days a week.

Travel
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
