Military Subject Matter Experts

IDS International is seeking Military Subject Matter Experts (SME) to provide expert analysis and research to complex problems, and processes relating to New Generation Warfare for the U.S. Army. The SMEs will develop and execute seminars and other analytical events, facilitating the study of future new generation warfare concepts using futuristic global scenarios and multiple potential crises that cross a wide range of military operations, and exploring concepts for Army, Service and Joint Communities across multiple and varied geographical locations around the world.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
Serves as technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives.
Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills.
Prepares detailed reports, briefing papers and other written products setting out relevant research findings and policy recommendations
Advocates – locally, nationally and internationally, as appropriate – and represents Crisis Group at events and meetings and in the media.
Proposes policy initiatives for governmental, intergovernmental, political, and non-governmental stakeholders.
Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.
Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.
Self-initiates assignments.
Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product.
Provides written analyses on the key issues.

Qualifications
Ability to travel overseas 50%.
Previous experience providing DoD advisory experience to CSA, SecArmy, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, SECDEF and other Senior Military Leaders
Extremely proficient in International Studies or International Law with specific technical expertise providing previous DoD advisory experience to CSA, SecARMY, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, SECDEF and other Senior Military Leaders
Previous experience in the participation of DoD studies of NWG; expertise on emerging country specific technologies, capabilities, and country development of tactical, operational, and strategic tactics, techniques, and procedures
Experience as author of publications, briefings, wargame development or participation on NWG events.
Expertise on all areas of concern (SOUTHCOM, USPACOM, CENTCOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, NORTHCOM), prior travel experience to localities throughout assigned AOR and the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone in the requested area of concern
Knowledge at the Brigade Command level being a graduate of the Army War College.
Demonstrate advanced research and critical thinking skills at the level of the Army Concept Framework (Army Capstone, Operating, Functional and Operational & Organizational Concepts)
Extensive writing skills and demonstrate experience articulating complex issues and topics in writing
