This position is located in UNSCOL Security & Safety Section. The incumbent will be under the overall command of the Chief Security Officer (CSO), and the direct supervision of the Security Officer in charge of Guard Force Unit.Responsibilities

Provides security and safety services including fire prevention and emergency fire fighting services, for the protection of all UNSCOL staff members, delegates, visitors, VIPs and property of UNSCOL premises. These include but are not limited to the following:
.Enforces the UN access control policies, screens and searches all persons entering and leaving the premises and arranges the issuance and control of daily visitors’ passes;
.Undertakes ground patrols to enhance the security of UNSCOL offices and conference areas, the perimeter of the compound during and after working hours;
.Supervises and controls the movement of UNSCOL’s property into and out the premises;
.Reports to the Chief of the Unit any anomalies and/or intervenes, alone or in small unit, based on the circumstances preventing the good functioning of activities at the UNSCOL premises;
.Supervises and controls traffic entry and exit check points into and out of the premises and in the authorized parking areas;
.Assists with evacuations and intervenes while awaiting the arrival of specialized assistance in cases of fire, bomb alerts, elevator malfunctions and any other related incidents;
.Co-ordinates with local authorities for the protection of staff members and property at the premises and conduct regular checks on police patrol around the premises;
.Takes appropriate action in cases of unpredictable security situations as an Armed UN Security Officer in accordance with UN Firearms Rules and Regulations and Mission Weapons Policy;
.Conducts communication services of telephone operators after normal working hours
•Trains new or lower-graded staff on work procedures.
•Acts as work leader, distributes, coordinates, or consolidates work of others in the team
•Carries out functions related to the security and safety of the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon (SCL) and Deputy Special Coordinator for Lebanon (DSCL) and provide escorts to both as needed
•Performs other functions as instructed by the CSO.Competencies

High school diploma or equivalent.Work Experience

Three years of experience in security or related area.Languages

Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic is a requirement. Knowledge of French language is desirable.Assessment
